The Libyan government refuted on Friday a report claiming Khamis, one of embattled leader Muammar Gaddafi's sons, was killed in a NATO air raid in the western town of Zlitan.

Earlier Friday, a rebel spokesman said Khamis was killed in NATO airstrike in Zlitan, which also led to the death of some 30 others.

Khamis commanded Libya's 32nd Brigade, one of the most reliable Gaddafi forces, which has been deployed in Zlitan, the biggest urban area between Misrata and the capital Tripoli. Enditem
