China's top trade union leader Wang Zhaoguo vowed Tuesday to strengthen ties with U.S. trade unions when meeting a delegation from U.S. Change to Win Federation led by its Chair, Joseph Hansen.

Wang, chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), praised China and U.S. trade unions for their bilateral communication and cooperation work.

He said interactions between the two countries' trade unions advance the friendship of the two peoples, develop healthy bilateral relations and safeguard employee's rights and dignity.

Wang, who is also vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, told the delegation that the Communist Party of China and the National People's Congress supports friendly communication between Chinese and American trade unions, and hopes the two countries' unions can enhance dialogues.

Wang also briefed the guests about China's labor law system, its legislation that protects workers' rights, and the country's collective wage negotiation system.
