The Greek economy may contract by 5.5 percent this year, an IMF official said in Athens on Monday, further adding to the burdens to the debt-ridden country's efforts to avert a potentially disastrous default.
"We now think that growth in 2011 might land at something like negative 5.5 percent," said IMF's representative to Greece Bob Traa.
