The death toll from Sunday's powerful earthquake in the northeast Indian state of Sikkim has risen to 78 in India, including 60 in Sikkim, as more bodies were found by the army and rescuers Tuesday, reported the Press Trust of India.
The report also said the army and rescuers have rescued 3,000 people in Sikkim so far.
The Indian army broke into Mangan, a small town in the epicenter of the earthquake Tuesday after clearing landslides and stones along the badly damaged roads. At least 10 more dead were found so far in Mangan and surrounding areas.
