EU adopts new sanctions against Iran, Belarus

The European Union (EU) adopted new sanctions against Iran and Belarus Monday in Luxembourg, said a EU spokesperson.

Michal Mann, spokesman of EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, confirmed the new sanctions.

"29 people from Iran and 16 from Belarus were added to the list," Mann told Xinhua by phone, "the people and the details will be published tomorrow."
