ASEAN has prepared aids for its member countries hit by floods, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said here on Friday.

Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa had met with his counterparts from ASEAN countries and continued communication to formulate what kind of assistance to be given to the countries, President Yudhoyono said. "As the chairman of ASEAN, Indonesia has taken an initiative step. Our foreign minister has met with foreign minister from ASEAN to formulate a collective step to help our friendly countries in settling the impact of the disaster," said Yudhoyono.

Floods have hit Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and the Philippines recently, killing more than 500 people and damaging infrastructures.

Indonesia expressed concern and condolences over the catastrophe and was going to send aids, said Yudhoyono.

"On behalf of the Indonesian people, I express a deep sympathy and condolence on the casualty and a huge material loss. Indonesia is going to help its friendly countries,"he said.
