China, EU vow to promote cultural, people-to-people exchanges

Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong met in Beijing Monday with Androulla Vassiliou, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, pledging to actively promote relationships between China and the EU.
With momentum behind it, the relationship between the two sides has become increasingly dynamic, said Liu. Continuing to strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges will consolidate the situation, she said.
Vassiliou said she felt confident that the relationship could improve still further. She said that such exchanges at a high level will enhance communication between the two sides in the areas of education and culture, and promote further cooperation between the two sides.
