A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) vowed Tuesday to improve China's work with Vietnam in cracking down on corruption effecting the two countries.

He Yong, deputy secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the pledge while hosting delegates from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) for an anti-corruption workshop in Beijing.

He hailed the growth of relations between China and Vietnam since the two states normalized ties in 1991, and the cooperation between the two ruling parties and their discipline inspection agencies.

Bui Thi Minh Hoai, a senior CPV discipline inspection official, said he agreed with He's remarks, and that the CPV would bolster its cooperation with the CPC.
