Hasson said Israel considers China as one of its most important partners, and scientists from his country have had hundreds of meetings with Chinese companies on R&D this year.
Two sides have carried out a variety of ongoing joint-projects in sectors of communication, software, energy and water, biotechnology and medical equipments, he said.
When asked about the recent cooperation plans between two countries, an embassy official said Israel will sign deals with Tianjin next week on water resource cooperation.
Hovav Ref, counselor for Economic and Commercial Affairs with the Israeli embassy, also mentioned that a similar deal was recently signed between Israel's and Beijing's water authorities.
An Israeli delegation led by the country's chief scientists arrived in Beijing on Sunday and left for Shanghai and Jiangsu Province late on Monday. They will stay in China until the end of the week.
According to Hasson, the delegation will meet government officials at provincial levels and from the Ministry of Science and Technology. They will visit companies and tour industrial parks and infrastructure programs.
China will send 24 delegations to Israel next week to work on the potential cooperation on water technology and energy between the two nations.
Hasson is the chief scientist of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor of Israel since January 2011. The Office of the Chief Scientist of the ministry oversees all government sponsored support of R&D in Israel.
