An army training plane crashed Monday morning in a hilly area some 80 kilometers west of Pakistan's capital Islamabad, said a spokesman with Pakistan Air Force ( PAF).

No one got killed in the crash, said the spokesman, adding that pilot of the plane managed to bail out before it crashed.

The spokesman said that the plane crashed due to technical fault while on a training flight, but he failed to mention what type of plane it was.

Earlier reports said that the plane crashed was a JF-17 Thunder jet fighter, but the PAF spokesman did not confirm the reports.

Shehzad Niaz, Information Officer of Attock District where the plane crashed, said eyewitnesses saw the plane catching fire before it crashed.
