Top nuclear envoy of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Lim Sung-nam met with his Chinese counterpart Wu Dawei during a two-day visit to Beijing, the Foreign Ministry said here on Friday.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Liu Weimin confirmed the meeting during a regular news briefing.

Liu said China's Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs Wu Dawei met with Lim on Thursday and exchanged views on six-party talks and the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

The six-party nuclear talks, which involve the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), ROK, China, Japan, Russia and the United States, have been stalled since the last session ended in late 2008.

China has recently had communication and contact with all relevant parties, Liu said.

In mid-December, Wu met with U.S. Special Representative on Korean Policy Glyn Davies and exchanged views regarding the resumption of the six-party talks.
