Belarus and China will implement a huge investment project in the near future, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko told Xinhua at a press conference here on Friday.

Lukashenko said that Belarus and China are going to create a big industrial park near the Belarusian capital.

"The creation of the Belarusian-Chinese technology park is a huge project. It is inconceivable at all, I thought unlikely to succeed. There will be investments of tens of billions U.S. dollars", the President said.

"We will forget about the problems with currency, and foreign exchange revenues are huge there," the Belarusian leader said.

Lukashenko also recalled that China gave Belarus 15 billion U.S. dollars as commercial loans and several billions on preferential terms.

The president mentioned the planned construction of a new runway in the National Airport Minsk. He added: "It costs about 600 million U.S. dollars. China is providing a loan under 1.5-2 percent interest rate" .

"We will take such loans to implement commercial projects, first of all. We don't need to borrow money at the government level," Lukashenko said.
