Three U.S. citizens were among the victims of shooting attacks on busses in eastern Mexico, media reported Saturday.
A group of five gunmen attacked three busses Thursday in the state of Veracruz, killing a total of seven passengers, authorities said.
The U.S. citizens killed were a 39-year-old woman and her two daughters who were returning from visiting relatives in La Huasteca, a region in northeastern Mexico, officials said.
The gunmen who allegedly carried out the attacks were later killed by soldiers.
