President Hu Jintao's special envoy, Chen Zhili, said in Bishkek on Tuesday that China would work with Kyrgyzstan to promote bilateral relations to a new high.
She made the remark during her meeting with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev, saying China-Kyrgyzstan relations had entered a new stage of comprehensive and in-depth development and development prospect's had broadened.
Chen, who is vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), said the two countries had upheld the principles of equal and mutual trust, mutual respect and mutual benefit since they established diplomatic relations 20 years ago. This had helped the healthy and stable development of relations of good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The Treaty on Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan provided a solid legal foundation for the development of the bilateral relationship, Chen said, adding bilateral cooperation in all areas yielded satisfying results.
She said China was willing to work with Kyrgyzstan to improve the level of political mutual trust and mutually beneficial cooperation so as to lift bilateral relations to a new high.
Atambayev said he appreciated China's assistance to his country during the past 20 years and said Kyrgyzstan attached great importance to the development of relations with China.
He said Kyrgyzstan would unswervingly support China's stance on issues related to Taiwan, Tibet and Xinjiang and would support China in fighting "East Turkistan" terrorist forces.
Atambayev said his country was willing to deepen cooperation in fields such as politics, security, economy and trade with China in an all-round way so as to promote the development of bilateral relations to a higher level in the interest of the two peoples.
