British police arrested four former or current journalists from The Sun and a serving police officer on Saturday as part of the ongoing investigation into illegal payments for information, British media reported.
According to BBC, the four Sun employees arrested are current head of news Chris Pharo, crime editor Mike Sullivan, former managing editor Graham Dudman, former deputy editor Fergus Shanahan. The fifth man was a 29-year-old police officer, arrested at his office at the London station.
Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation confirmed that all four were current or former Sun employees.
Police also searched these men's homes and the offices of the News International in London during the investigation.
The Sun is the second Murdoch publication under investigation since the exposion of the tabloid phone-hacking scandal. The News of the World (NOTW), another newspaper under the News Corporation has been shut down.
