A car bomb rocked Afghan southern town of Kandahar on Sunday, leaving at least eight people dead and injured, an official said.
"The car bombing happened close to police department in Kandahar city at around noon time, killing and injuring at least eight people including police and civilians," the official who declined to give his name told Xinhua, adding that authorized officials would brief the media after an investigation.
He said some vehicles nearby were also damaged in the blast.
Meanwile, a doctor in Mir Wais hospital in Kandahar city, capital of Kandahar province said on the condition of anonymity that two dead bodies and 10 injured, including civilians had been sent to his hospital.
