Pakistan on Wednesday condemned the killing of a Chinese woman in the troubled north-western city of Peshawar.

Unidentified gunmen, riding a motorcycle, shot and killed a Chinese woman and a Pakistani man on Tuesday afternoon in a busy market place in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
"The Government of Pakistan condemns, in the strongest terms, the incident in Peshawar in which a Chinese national lost her life, " the Foreign Ministry said.
"We condole with the family of the deceased. Every effort will be made to investigate this crime and bring the perpetrators to justice," a Foreign Ministry statement said.
The statement said the Government of Pakistan attaches high importance to the security and safety of Chinese nationals in Pakistan.
