Chinese, Brazilian FMs discuss ties, Syria

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held telephone talks with his Brazilian counterpart Antonio Patriota on Wednesday about bilateral ties, cooperation and the Syria issue.

The two spoke highly of China-Brazil relations and expressed their willingness to further exchanges and cooperation to boost the two countries' strategic partnership.

They agreed to maintain communication and coordination to help bring forth positive outcomes at the upcoming fourth BRICS Summit in India and UN Conference on Sustainable Development in Brazil.

Meanwhile, they pledged to enhance the solidarity and cooperation among emerging economies and developing countries and promote sustainable development worldwide.

The two also exchanged opinions on the Syria issue, agreeing to jointly push for a proper settlement through dialogue.
