At a press briefing immediately after the conclusion of the fourth BRICS summit, Hu said leaders of the five BRICS countries, including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, have reached broad consensus on further strengthening cooperation.

First, Hu said development of the BRICS countries constitutes an important part of global common development, adding cooperation among the BRICS countries is conducive to democratization of the international relations.

Second, Hu said cooperation among the BRICS nations conforms with the time's trend of peace, development and cooperation, and the common interests the member countries and the international community share as a whole.

He said the five countries should continue to join efforts to advance the process of global economic governance, cooperate closely on major regional and international issues and deepen practical cooperation in various fields.

Third, Hu said the summit made a plan for future BRICS cooperation and passed the Delhi Declaration.

He said this summit had laid a solid foundation for the next step of cooperation among the BRICS members.

Hu expressed the readiness that the Chinese side will strengthen partnership with other BRICS members to jointly push forward a strong, sustainable and balanced growth of the world economy and development of a harmonious world of common prosperity and eternal peace.
