Nearly 3,000 Syrians enter Turkey in 24 hours

Nearly 3,000 Syrian citizens fleeing the clashes in their country crossed into Turkey in the last 24 hours, marking a record high daily number of incoming refugee in recent two months, Turkish semi-official Anatolia News Agency reported Friday.
The Syrians, mostly women and children, entered Turkey through the Reyhanli town of southern Hatay province after they escaped from the Syrian city of Idlib, according to the report.
According to statement of Turkish Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD), a total of 37,699 Syrian citizens have entered Turkey, and the number of Syrians now staying in Turkey has reached 23,835 on Friday.
Currently 8,299 Syrians stay in Turkey's southern Hatay province, 5,494 in Gaziantep province and 9,080 in Kilis province. They were provided with lodging, food, health services, security, social activities, education, religious services, translation services and communications, said the statement.
