A NATO drone crashed Friday in northern Afghanistan, the NATO-led forces said in a press release. "An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) rotary-wing unmanned aerial vehicle crashed in northern Afghanistan today," the NATO-led ISAF said in the release.

The brief ISAF statement ruled out involvement of insurgent activities in the incident, saying"the cause of the crash is currently being assessed, however, initial reporting indicates there was no enemy activity in the area. The site has been secured and no injuries have been reported as a result of the incident."

However, a Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid in talks with local media claimed that the insurgent fighters shot down a NATO helicopter in northern Baghlan province.
