British, French and Australian embassies in Pakistan's capital of Islamabad on Wednesday respectively received suspicious parcels which might contain poisonous materials inside along with threatening letters, local media Geo quoted police sources as saying.
Each of the parcel received by the afore-said embassies contained five grams of black colored suspicious powder, the police said. Latest news coming in said that each parcel carried a three-line letter which warned against the reopening of the NATO supply line.
According to the police, the parcels were posted three days ago from the country's southern Sindh province and the suspicious materials contained in the parcels have been sent to laboratory for further investigation.
The incident took place at a time when there were reports saying that a top meeting of the Pakistani cabinet held on Tuesday night had principally agreed to restore the NATO supply line which has been suspended for almost half a year following a deadly NATO air strike on two Pakistani border checkposts on November 26, 2011, which killed 24 troops and wounded 13 others.
Local watchers believed that with the possible imminent reopening of the NATO supply line via Pakistan, more terrorist attacks could be launched in the country.
