Abducted German engineer dies in Nigeria

A German engineer abducted late January in northern Nigeria's Kano State has died during a rescue mission on Thursday morning, according to a senior military source.
Edgar Fritz Raufach, the engineer who worked with Dantata and Sawoe Construction Company was killed in a botched raid by the Nigerian troops in a suburb in the Kano metropolis, said the military source who declined to be identified.
"The military are on top of the situation now," he added.
