Terrorism danger remains urgent, undeniable

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in Istanbul Thursday that the danger of terrorism still remains urgent and undeniable.

Foreign ministers and senior delegates from 16 nations have gathered in Istanbul to discuss the latest developments in Syria. [CNTV]

She made the statement at the opening of the two-day Global Counterterrorism Forum held in Istanbul.

The forum was co-chaired by Clinton and Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu at Conrad Hotel.

Davutoglu said Turkey is fully committed to the fight against the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK).

Clinton voiced her support to Turkey in its fight against PKK.

16 countries' FMs meet in Turkey to discuss Syrian crisis

According to CNTV report, foreign ministers and senior delegates from 16 nations have gathered in Istanbul to discuss the latest developments in Syria.

The meeting is being hosted by Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. It has brought together US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and foreign ministers from the EU, the United Kingdom, France, among others. It comes a day ahead of a counter-terrorism forum co-chaired by Clinton and her Turkish counterpart.

The United Nations says over 9,000 people have been killed in the 14-month-old conflict in Syria.
