A suicide car bomb rocked Narai district in Afghanistan's Kunar province, 185 km east of capital Kabul on Thursday, leaving three people including a security personnel dead, a local official said.
"Two terrorists were driving an explosive-laden car in Narai district this afternoon. When police stopped them for checking, they blew their car up, killing a security personnel on the spot," district governor Gul Zaman told Xinhua.
Both the attackers were also killed in the blast occurred at around 2 p.m. local time, he added.
Meantime, Zabihullah Mujahid who claims to speak for the Taliban outfit in talks with media via telephone from unknown location accepted responsibly, insisting six Afghan and foreign soldiers were killed in the blast, a claim rejected by district governor Gul Zaman as baseless.
This is the second anti-government militants' attack in Afghanistan in a single day on Thursday.
In the previous attack, a remote control bomb was set off in Karte Dostom area of Sheberghan, the capital of the northern Jowzjan province, at around 7 a.m. local time Thursday, leaving 11 people injured, police confirmed.
