Assistant Foreign Minister Le Yucheng will lead a Chinese delegation to attend the upcoming talks in Russia on Iran's nuclear program, the ministry announced on Friday.

The talks between Iran and the P5+1, the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany, are slated for June 18-19 in Moscow.

China always advocates that dialogues and negotiation are the only right and effective way to resolve Iran's nuclear problem, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin at a regular press conference.

"We hope all relevant parties will enhance diplomatic efforts, properly deal with differences, so as to push for substantive results in the Moscow talks," he added.

He also urged parties concerned to ensure the positive momentum of cooperation, and seek a comprehensive, long-term and proper resolution to the Iranian nuclear issue.

"China has long been committed to promoting peaceful talks, and will continue to make joint efforts with other parties to promote the peaceful resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue through diplomatic measures," Liu said.
