Former U.S. President Bill Clinton arrived in Uganda on Friday for one-day private visit during which he will promote projects run by his foundation Clinton Global Initiative (CGI).
He visited a CGI Building Tomorrow Academy-Gitta in the central Ugandan district of Luweero, about 25 km north of the capital Kampala and was also scheduled to give a talk in the capital Kampala before going to Entebbe still central Uganda to visit a medicine facility.
During the visit, he is also expected to meet Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.
Clinton, on an African tour since July 15, has been to South Africa, Mozambique, Rwanda and now Uganda.
Clinton established the CGI in 2005 to convene global leaders to create and implement innovative solutions to the world's most pressing challenges.
In his post-presidential work, Clinton has continued to build upon his long-standing commitment to Africa through the work of his Foundation by providing investment and opportunity to undeserved communities.
Clinton, who was last in Uganda in 1998 as sitting US President, visited Finca microfinance, Makerere University and Kisowera Primary School in Mukono.
He was the first American president to visit Uganda and then followed by George Bush in 2003.
