Yulia Tymoshenko, the imprisoned former Ukrainian prime minister, has completed a rehabilitation course prescribed by German and Ukrainian doctors, Health Minister Raisa Bogatyrova said Friday.

"Tymoshenko is very active. She holds a lot of different meetings. It shows the dynamics of her health improving and a positive result of her rehabilitation," Bogatyrova said told reporters.

Ukrainian doctors performed all procedures recommended by German physicians, Bogatyrova said, while adding that there was no additional need of in-patient treatment for the former Ukrainian leader.

Tymoshenko, who is serving a seven-year prison sentence on charges of power abuse in a 2009 gas deal with Russia, has complained of intensive back pains since October 2011.

Tymoshenko was also accused in April of squandering state money and evading taxes.

Ukrainian courts have postponed trials involving Tymoshenko several times due to her poor health and inability to attend hearings. The next hearing is scheduled for July 31.
