DPRK official lauds China's achievements

The Democratic Peoples' Republic of Korea(DPRK) is glad about the achievements made by the Chinese people in their socialist construction under the leadership of the Communist Party of China(CPC), a senior DPRK official said on Monday.

Kim Sung Nam, vice director of the International Department of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) Central Committee, told Xinhua in a written interview that the DPRK will continue to actively support Chinese people's just cause of building socialism and realizing the reunification of the motherland.

He expressed the wish that the upcoming 18th National Congress of the CPC a full success.

Kim noted that, under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese people have made noteworthy achievements in safeguarding national stability, maintaining sustained economic growth and building a harmonious socialist society.

The DPRK felt sincerely happy about that, he said.

"I believe that the DPRK-China traditional friendship will be further strengthened and developed toward higher stages," Kim said, referring to the two countries' relationship as a precious legacy created by the leaders of the two countries and precious wealth of the two peoples.

Kim said he felt pleased with the active recent high-level exchanges between the two countries and smooth progress of exchanges and cooperation in political, economic and cultural fields.

To strengthen the DPRK-China traditional friendship will promote the socialist construction of the two countries and contribute to peace and stability in Asia and the world, Kim added.
