South Korea urged the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Thursday to make a sensible choice.

"North Korea's demands are hard to understand," Cho Tai-young, South Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman, said at a press briefing. "I think they are illogical. We've repeatedly emphasized Pyongyang should make a right and sensible choice."

His comments came after the DPRK demanded Washington and Seoul to stop provocation and listed some conditions for restoring talks amid tensions on the Korean Peninsula early the day.

DPRK also urged Washington and Seoul to withdraw nuclear weapons stationed in and around South Korea, and refrain from redeploying them, if they want to reopen negotiations with Pyongyang.
