The China-Southeast Asia High-level People to People Dialogue Conference, organized by the Network for International Exchanges (CNIE), a Chinese nongovernmental organization, will kick off in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on June 3.

Hundreds of participants from 11 countries will attend the meeting. Among them are government officials, politicians, academics and representatives of nongovernmental organizations and reporters.

This two-day conference, themed "Boosting Development Through a Peace Deal and Achieving Positive Outcomes Through Cooperation", will discuss issues of common concern in China and Southeast Asia. It aims to establish a platform to support regional cooperation and development between China and Southeast Asian countries.

The conference consists of two sub-meetings themed "Collecting the Will of People and Boosting Ties Between China and Southeast Asia" and "New Measures for Pragmatic Cooperation".

Moreover, the attendees will join an insightful dialogue themed "Cooperation Between Government and People—Impetus for Regional Peace and Development".

The representatives of the nongovernmental organizations will also visit Fangchenggang, a coastal city of Guangxi , to see China's development since the reform and opening-up policy of 1978.

"This is the first high-level people to people dialogue conference between China and Southeast Asia," said You Jianhua, secretary-general of CNIE. "It represents the common and wholehearted hope from people in China and Southeast Asian countries,"he added.
