ABC host Jimmy Kimmel.

ABC host Jimmy Kimmel's apology for his controversial "Kill Everyone in China" segment was not sincere, a China Central Television (CCTV) news program said yesterday.

The CCTV Live News program showed Kimmel telling Chinese protesters in Hollywood that they can sue him if they want, but it would be a waste of money, because the U.S has freedom of the press.

"If he said [killing everyone in] Canada, I would have the same reaction," Kimmel said.

Kimmel did not comment on the question about differences between different races.

Kimmel apologized to Chinese protesters for the offensive segment on Oct 30, two weeks after it was put on the air. In ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," one child suggested that a solution to the U.S. sovereign debt issue could be to "kill everyone in China," and another suggested putting up a huge wall around China.

Critics said that Kimmel was wrong for not stopping the comment and for failing to explain to the children that it was not the right idea, and the problem was made worse, because ABC failed to remove the comment from the show, which was taped before it went on air.
