Iran's Atomic Energy Organization spokesman Behrouz Kamalvand rejected Tuesday the allegations by an Iranian exiled opposition group about a hidden underground site for military nuclear purposes inside the country, according to the official IRNA news agency.

Kamalvand called the claims "repetitious and unfounded," saying that the allegations are aimed at influencing the "positive atmosphere" created between Iran and the P5+1 -- Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States plus Germany -- in the recent talks over Iran's nuclear program.

On Monday, the Paris-based National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) claimed that its sources inside the country have confirmed the existence of a military site inside a heavily guarded 600-metre tunnel in central Isfahan province. The group said, however, it is unable to make sure what is happening inside the tunnel because the area was highly secured.

Also, Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan rejected the claims, saying that the move is an attempt to undermine the ongoing nuclear talks and to mislead the world public opinion, according to Press TV report.

Such ploys cannot weaken the resolve of the Islamic republic to advance its "peaceful" nuclear program or sabotage negotiations with the P5+1, he was quoted as saying.
