Pakistan on Sunday strongly condemned the barbaric terrorist attack at a train station in China's Yunnan province. "Being themselves victims of terrorism, the people of Pakistan fully understand and share the pain of the people of China,"the Foreign Ministry said.

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson said in a statement that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security. "We are ready to extend all possible cooperation to China in combating this menace." "Our prayers and thoughts are with the families of victims of this terrorist attack,"the statement said.

Twenty-nine civilians were confirmed dead and more than 140 others wounded after a group of knife-wielding militants attacked the railway station in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, on Saturday. The authorities said that it was an organized, premeditated violent terrorist attack.

Evidence at the scene showed that the attack was carried out by Xinjiang separatists, said the municipal government of Kunming.
