China is ready to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership with Belarus, Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cheng Guoping said here Tuesday.

During his meeting with Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei, Cheng said his visit is mainly to discuss ways to step up cooperation with Belarus and implement the arrangements to strengthen friendly ties between the two countries,

"Solid contacts and strong friendly ties between the President of Belarus and the President of China play a huge role in promoting friendly relations between the two countries," Cheng added.

Makei, for his part, said Belarus is going to take decisive actions to implement the roadmap for cooperation with China in 2014-2018, which was signed by Belarusian Prime Minister during his visit to China earlier this year.

The Belarusian minister also stressed that persistent work is still ahead to further strengthen the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
