The South African Congress of Trade Unions (COSATU) on Tuesday wrote to All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) sending messages of solidarity for the missing Chinese on the missing flight MH370.

In a letter to the general secretary of the ACFTU, Bheki Ntshalintshali, the acting general secretary of COSATU said "We note with great anticipation the news of the disappearance of Malaysian flight MH370 Beijing-bound that carried on board 239 people among them more than 150 Chinese nationals, 2 of them officials of ACFTU when it disappeared early on 8 March 2014."

The Malaysian flight which was going to Beijing, China, is now being sought by various countries including China who are investigating its disappearance.

"We wish to let you know that you and your members remain in our prayers as the search continues to locate and ascertain what happened to the plane. We remain hopeful and find comfort in the knowledge that there have not been reports or signs that it crashed and we pray for the safe return of all on board and that no life is lost," said Ntshalintshali.

"We are with you in this time of uncertainty and we send these greetings and well wishes in solidarity, you are not alone," the COSATU general secretary added.
