Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Wednesday condemned the shotdown of MH17, calling on all parties to work together to ensure investigations were completed immediately.

In a motion at a specially convened session of Parliament, Najib said the officials from the United States and the Ukraine claimed that MH17 was shot down a few hours after its crash.

If the accusation turned out to be true, Malaysia condemned the "inhumane, uncivilized, violent and irresponsible" action of the parties believed to have shot down the Boeing 777, he said.

However, Najib said Malaysia would not point fingers at any side until the truth came to light.

He also called on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to launch condemnation on the MH17 incident basing on other previous cases in which aircrafts had been shot down.

Najib said according to related international rules, the Ukrainian government should take full responsibility of the investigation work and notify the investigation report to the families of the victims. Meanwhile, Malaysia would give full support to the investigation work, he added.

At the same time, Najib said Malaysia had called for a comprehensive investigation by international independent bodies into the crash of MH17.
