Russia has no plan to lower another "iron curtain" in international cooperation despite the recent exchange of sanctions with the West, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said Thursday.
"It is not our aim to throw the country into self-isolation, to lower iron curtain before our foreign partners. We are ready for cooperation," Rogozin told an international technology forum in the city of Zhukovsky near Moscow.
Still, he added, the Russian industry must develop a full technological production cycle, from raw materials to ready-made systems.
"The production chain must be fully localized on the Russian territory," Interfax news agency quoted the official as saying.
While noting that Russia cannot afford to be dependent on the "changing mood" of its foreign partners, he urged Western politicians not to destroy cooperation in the military-technical sector.
According to the official, Russia's defense industry will be fully localized in two or three years.
