Car bomb in Kabul kills 3, wounds 17

Three persons were killed and 17 others sustained injuries as a car bomb rocked Afghan capital Kabul on Sunday, Interior Ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqi confirmed.

All the victims of the blast which occurred on Darul Aman road are civilians.

"Unfortunately three civilians were killed and around 17 others injured in today's attack on Darul Aman road," Sediqi said in his twitter account.

Meanwhile, security officials at the site of the blast said the target of the attacker was lawmaker Shukria Barikzai, but she escaped unhurt.

The attack happened at 10:20 a.m. local time, according to eye witnesses.

Several buildings and shops near the site were damaged.
