Two militants were killed in a clash with government troops in southern Philippines on Wednesday, the military said.

The army's 45th Infantry Battalion was ambushed by two unidentified militants in Datu Unsay, Maguidanao province, in the afternoon, said Joann Petinglay, public affairs officer of 6th Infantry Division.

Both militants were killed as soldiers fired back. The casualties on the side of the troops are unclear.
