The death toll of the U.S. drone strike launched in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of North Waziristan on Saturday morning has risen to six, reported local Urdu TV channel Dawn.

According to the report, the U.S. unmanned aircraft fired two missiles at a house suspected of being a militant hideout in Data Khel area of North Waziristan, a tribal area bordering Afghanistan.

The strike left the house completely destroyed, leaving three others injured, said the report.

The identities of the killed and injured are not immediately available.

Saturday's U.S. drone strike is the 20th of its kind in Pakistan in 2014. At least 142 people, most of whom believed to be militants, have reportedly been killed in such strikes in 2014.

Despite repeated protests lodged by the Pakistani side against the U.S. drone strikes on its territory, the U.S. side has never halted such strikes as it insists that this is one of the most effective way to wipe out the militants hiding in the mountainous areas along the Pak-Afghan border.
