The UK China Entrepreneurship Association (UCEA) sponsored competition will see young entrepreneurial Chinese applicants from London, the Midlands, and China, publicly contend for the award of direct funding and investment.

The opening ceremony was led by talks from some of the top names in business, marketing and entrepreneurship mentoring, and marked the official beginning of the competition period in which individual Chinese talent and teams will be working towards the first heat, from which the current mass of applicants will be cut down to 20 teams in the semi-finals.

Competition will be hard this year. It was revealed that the competition catchment area has been extended to entrants from the Midlands and China, as well as London. The increase in entrant eligibility has led to a double in the number of entering teams looking to get investment and capital.

A speech given by awards judge and Rockstar Group Managing Director, Jonathan Pfahl, stated that they are looking for the sort of talented groups of individuals who not only have a plan, but have a plan that they believe and have absolute faith will work. The awards may be a step up the ladder for some people, but it is hard to start a business and even harder to keep it running.

Application in to the competition is open until the 25th of March 2015.
