Four civilians lost their lives as a roadside bomb struck a car in Boghlan province with Pul-e-Khumri as its capital 160 km north of Kabul Sunday night, a local official said Monday.

"A mine planted by militants on a road in Burka district struck a car Sunday night killing four travelers on the spot," Abdul Jabar Islami, head of Burka district, told reporters here.

He blamed Taliban militants for the deadly attack. The armed outfit has yet to claim responsibility.
