Myanmar announces 333 elected parliament representatives

Myanmar's Union Election Commission (UEC) announced Wednesday that 333 parliament representatives to three levels of the parliament have been elected as of Tuesday night after the Sunday election.

Of the 333 representatives, 88 are elected to the Houses of Representatives (Lower House), 33 to the House of Nationalities (Upper House) and 212 to the Region or State Parliament.

Of the 88 elected to the House of Representatives, 78 are dominated by the opposition National League for Democracy (NLD), while the ruling Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) takes six.

Of the 33 elected to the House of Nationalities, NLD dominates 29, while USDP shares two.

Of the 212 elected to the Region or State Parliament, NLD occupies 184, while USDP 17.

Up to now, the NLD has secured a total of 291 seats in three levels of the parliament including 78 in the House of Representatives, 29 in the House of Nationalities and 184 in the Region or State Parliament.
