A 5.1-magnitude earthquake jolted southeastern South Korea, with the tremor being felt nationwide, local media outlets reported on Monday.

The tremor occurred from a region, some 9 km southwest of Gyeongju city in North Gyeongsang province at about 7:44 p.m. local time (1044 GMT), according to local broadcaster YTN.

It was the fourth-strongest quake that had hit the country, YTN said. Yonhap news agency revised down the magnitude from the initial 5.3 to 5.1.

The tremor was felt nationwide from adjacent cities of Ulsan and Busan to as far north as capital Seoul and far south as the southern resort island of Jeju.

No damage has been reported so far, the Ministry of Public Safety and Security was quoted as saying.
