Danish Crown Prince Frederik attended the opening ceremony of a China-Denmark High Level Seminar on a theme of "Educating the Leaders of Tomorrow – Play, Creativity and Social Values" at Tsinghua University in Beijing on Sept. 24. This was the second day of his state visit to China.

There is much for China and Denmark to learn from each other, and Denmark hopes to deepen the cooperation with China in science and education, the crown prince said during his meeting with Qiu Yong, president of Tsinghua University on the sidelines of the seminar.

In a speech at the opening ceremony, Zhu Zhiwen, China's vice minister of education, said there had been many achievements in educational cooperation between China and Denmark. Hence, it is of great significance to hold the seminar, enabling the two countries to share experiences in education and explore ways to educate the leaders of tomorrow.

After the seminar, the crown prince visited Tsinghua Lifelong Learning Lab. He listened to the laboratory management's introduction of its research project and watched a small group of Chinese children aged six to eight solving specific tasks through different learning methods.

The laboratory, jointly established by Tsinghua University and the Danish LEGO Foundation, is dedicated to promoting research into children's creativity and lifelong learning abilities.

The crown prince's visit is scheduled to last four days, concluding in South China's Guangzhou City on Sept. 26.
