KABUL, May 1 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan interim government's Ministry of Commerce and Industry has signed five memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with five leading aid agencies to improve people's livelihoods, an official from the ministry said on Thursday.
The total value of the signed MoUs reached over 2.5 million U.S. dollars, benefiting 20,500 individuals, according to Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, spokesman for the ministry, on his X account, adding that the agencies will implement their projects in the provinces of Kandahar, Helmand, Wardak, Kunduz, Jawzjan, Logar, Nangarhar, and Kabul.
Earlier, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation inked MoUs with aid agencies to implement educational and development projects for families who have recently returned and those who are displaced in 16 provinces last week.
The Afghan interim government has urged both local and international organizations to invest in the country to enhance the economy and create more jobs. Enditem
