PARIS, May 9 (Xinhua) -- French President Emmanuel Macron and visiting Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Friday signed a treaty of friendship in Nancy, northeastern France, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas such as defense and energy.
At a press conference following the signing, Macron said that the two countries will enhance defense cooperation and fight "foreign interference, cyber-attacks," among others.
Tusk said that the treaty includes a mutual defense clause, while Macron noted that France's nuclear deployment has "a European component."
Beyond defense, the two countries will also deepen cooperation in infrastructure and energy, according to French media reports. Enditem
