MINSK, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Belarus on Friday held a military parade to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Soviet Union's Great Patriotic War.
The parade involved soldiers from the Belarusian Army, Air Force, and Special Forces, as well as personnel from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Investigative Committee, military academies and foreign military contingents. More than 4,000 people and 220 pieces of military technical equipment participated in the parade.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said for 80 years, Belarus has remembered the heroes, paid tribute to the fallen soldiers and celebrated the great victory.
He also called on politicians, leaders and people of Western countries to remember the lessons of war. Enditem
