BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The Royal Brunei Customs and Excise department has confiscated 1,050 cartons of cigarettes, 10 cans of alcohol and found 1,752 Brunei dollars (1,343.46 U.S. dollars) in cash during an operation at national housing scheme area in Lambak Kanan near the capital.
Three people aged between 21-42 years old were arrested, and two vehicles believed to be involved in suspicious activities were also seized, the Customs said on Tuesday in a statement.
The operation was conducted jointly with the Royal Brunei Police Force and Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
Brunei is a Sultanate located in Southeast Asia. The laws in Brunei impose strict regulations on cigarettes and alcoholic beverages. Enditem
